How to change between Mumbai Metro lines

Every place where you can change between Mumbai Metro lines, local trains and the monorail, and what the change involves.

Mumbai’s metro lines are run by different operators, so most changes mean leaving one station and entering another.

Marol Naka: Line 1 and the Aqua Line

The Marol Naka stations sit one above the other: Line 1 is elevated and the Aqua Line is underground. The two are not linked by lifts or escalators inside the station, so allow time to walk between them.

D.N. Nagar and Andheri West: Line 1 and Line 2A

D.N. Nagar on Line 1 and Andheri West on Line 2A are separate stations next to each other.

Western Express Highway and Gundavali: Line 1 and Line 7

A short footbridge links Western Express Highway on Line 1 with Gundavali on Line 7.

Dahisar East: Lines 2A, 7 and 9

Dahisar East serves three lines. Since April 2026, Line 7 trains run straight on to Line 9, while Line 2A runs as a separate line.

Chembur: Line 2B, local trains and the monorail

Chembur on Line 2B is a short walk from Chembur railway station on the Harbour line and from the monorail station, which is closed for now.

Local trains

Many Aqua Line stations connect to local trains: Churchgate, CSMT, Grant Road, Jagannath Shankar Sheth for Mumbai Central, Mahalaxmi, Dadar and Santacruz. On Line 1, Andheri and Ghatkopar have walkways to the railway stations.
